Surgery part deux

Everything went well. Dad kicked me out until about 8:00 pm so I could come home and handle some chores.  Doctor was pleased with the results and they should get her up to walk around in a little while.

Looks like I will be making my own martinis in the bathroom tonight since Hubby is handling soccer practice. 🙂

I am REALLY looking forward to sweating my ass off sleeping on the plastic fold out torture chair bed there tonight with all of the beeps and bings that go with all of the equipment in there.  Oh well – I guess I can sleep at work tomorrow when I’m dead.

Mom has hip replacement surgery tomorrow.  Looking forward to a day in the hospital with my dad and sister…..

NOT looking forward to a painful night “sleeping” in the chair in her room overnight….  I wonder if I can move her PCA pump to my arm sometime during the evening.  I’m sure I can Google that to double check.

The last time my dad was in the hospital my husband made martinis in the bathroom and put them in Arby’s cups for those of us not on pain meds.  I may have to request that service again.

Or I could just take a Melatonin and wicked technicolor dreams…

I’m so blessed to have options.

The church of soccer

Jennster had a post about the church of baseball that I commented on. Then I realized that I hadn’t posted here in forever. Here is what I left on her blog and if you haven’t ever been there before you must go. She makes me laugh – a l o t! Here is the link to her blog cut and pasted because I’m all technical like that and can’t figure out how to link it through her name in this paragraph.

I attended the church of football, but had to transfer my membership to the church of soccer lately.
My son is an awesome soccer player, but my heart is with football….. It broke a little when he decided he wanted to go back to soccer. He was always the star of the team and I didn’t understand how he could stop playing.
I always told him it was his decision and when he came to me and said he was tired of broken bones at the end of the season and just wasn’t in to any longer I had to concede.
I never told him how much I wanted to push him to stay so he took a couple of seasons off and joined the church of soccer again – the sport that he quit to play football in which my heart broke a little then as well.
Watching him play soccer is incredible – he is a strategic thinker and a team player and I am so proud of him.
The good thing about the church of soccer is there is very little stand, sit, kneel – rinse and repeat so my legs are not so sore come Sunday evening.

Merry Christmas!

This house will be winter wonderland by the end of this @$#U($@# evening if it kills me.

Oh – and my @#$*($@P hair will be colored too.

Merry $#@*($@ Christmas.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Thank goodness my son got in the shower this morning and the sound of the water running woke me up.

I think I would have slept until noon.
